YEEHAW! Went out and got a basic beer making kit and recipe packet from the local homebrew store. My first batch will be an Irish Red Ale. The instructions are kind of funky when it comes to dissolving the DME and steeping the grains…………(?)

I’m experimenting with controlling the temperatures in my primary fermenter using a twist on the “swamp cooling” method. Instead of wrapping a cotton t-shirt around the carboy I substituted a coolmax (micro fiber) running shirt. Wow, it really wicks up the water better than cotton and so far is keeping the temp between 68-70 degrees [...]

making a fermenter for brewing beer. cheap easy cost???? 2-3 bucks and will last. cheaper than buying a 40-60$$$ glass carboy for those that brew and dont want to spend all that money. I have a few beers going at once and didnt want to have to buy 4-5 carboys what you need food grade [...]
